Data Specialist Position Description:
The primary functions of the Data Specialist is to maintain the company databases; and provide the primary desktop and software-related technical support for problem resolution. Must have the ability to design and analyze surveys, build data collection systems, and manage data. May plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard computer databases.

Nonexempt, Full-time Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
Essential duties may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned. Oversees day-to-day integrity of database and database procedures Works in conjunction with the data team to develop and produce accurate and timely routine and special reports Completes requested data retrievals for staff as needed Accountable for the accuracy and integrity of all data files; performs data entry and oversees the data entry process; recommends policies, procedures, and guidelines for data entry Manages data acquisitions such as FFSC’s client mailing list Trains staff on the use of the company’s standard software applications and databases Specify users and user access levels for each segment of database Provides in-house expertise and technical support to end-users on database and software-related issues Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems, and documents, tracks and monitors problems to ensure a timely resolution
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of methods of collecting and evaluating information and data related to contract programs Ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively with other professional colleagues Ability to assess situations and make recommendations Ability to develop clear, concise and pertinent procedures necessary to the operation of and implementation of programs and plans related to a particular project Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook, ability to train end users to intermediate and advanced levels Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology. Knowledge of Oracle Java, C++, and Apricot preferred. Must be able to understand the plight of the clients that FFSC serves and have a desire to work to meet FFSC’s goals and mission Must understand and practice the NASW code of ethics Highly organized, with superior problem resolution and analytical skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to handle multiple projects and work independently
Educational and Experience Requirements:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s Degree is preferred 2 years of related experience
Other:
Must possess a valid Missouri Drivers license and a reliable insured vehicle for transportation.
