Cimarron is seeking a Database Administrator to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.

Key Duties :

Install, configure, operate, and maintain database systems across the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) enterprise network. Research and apply best practices for database design and administration. Create and maintain standard database policies, operating procedures, and documentation. Monitor database performance, perform fine-tuning, and optimize database systems. Develop and implement database backup and disaster recovery strategies. Conduct audits to assess database capacity and availability. Define database system requirements and recommend technology solutions as part of IT and business projects. Research, document, and introduce new database technologies and features into the application life cycle. Collaborate with application developers, business owners, and architects on design and implementation efforts.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education :

Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time. This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver’s license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include, but is not limited to, testing for marijuana use. Active Secret Clearance 6 or more years of experience with database architecture, DBA task automation, and/or data modeling/schema design. Ability to obtain an appropriate computing environment certification (e.g., Microsoft Windows Server 2016, Microsoft Azure) within 6 months of start date. Current DoD 8570 Level II Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE or higher), or ability to obtain within 3 months of start date.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education :

Experience with MS SQL Server 2019 or higher. Experience with MS SQL Server clustering, performance tuning, and database monitoring. Experience with MS SQL Server database backup and recovery. Knowledge and experience with relational DBMS concepts, design, architecture, and operations. Experience working with databases in cloud environments such as Azure or AWS.
