Oracle/SQL Database Engineer with Systems Administration Experience –
TS/SCI Clearance Required Job Description:
Are you an experienced Oracle and SQL database engineer with a passion for systems administration? Join our IT team and play a vital role in user support and system configuration. We are seeking a talented individual to manage Oracle/SQL databases, provide engineering tool support, implement system patching and hardening, and automate system/software deployment. A current/active TS/SCI security clearance is required for this position, and you must be willing to submit to a CI Polygraph if required.
Essential Functions:
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in the configuration and maintenance of Oracle and SQL databases, ensuring system reliability, data integrity, and availability. Implement regular system updates and patches to minimize vulnerabilities and maintain compliance with industry standards 2. Proactively monitor database health and resolve performance issues 2. Develop and maintain scripts and tools for deployment automation to increase efficiency in operational processes 2. Collaborate with engineering teams to understand program requirements and deliver tailored technical solutions. Demonstrate strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, networking protocols, PowerShell, and security best practices. Communicate complex technical issues and strategies clearly to management and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, OR a Graduate Degree with 4 years of relevant experience, OR a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
Systems Administration:
Four years of Microsoft Windows and/or LINUX systems administration experience 2.
Database Administration:
Three years of direct experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
Security Clearance:
Current/active TS/SCI security clearance required. Must be willing to submit to a CI Polygraph if required.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Linux Experience:
Two years of experience supporting LINUX (RedHat REL 7/8, Centos, Ubuntu).
Networking:
CCNA/CCNP and/or 3 years of experience managing Cisco routers and switches at the enterprise level.
Virtualization:
Experience with VMware or similar virtualization software.
Automation:
Experience with Ansible.
Backup Systems:
Experience with Commvault or similar backup system software.
NIST RMF
Experience managing systems under the NIST Risk Management Framework.
