Position Overview:
This role supports the development and maintenance of database systems that track operational and maintenance metrics for Littoral Combat Ship operations. The ideal candidate will create user-friendly, web-based and desktop solutions to enable streamlined data collection, analysis, and reporting, supporting process improvements and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop databases (Access, SQL, SharePoint) to support data tracking and reporting for maintenance, training, and readiness metrics. Collaborate with analysts and subject matter experts to transition spreadsheet-based processes into database platforms. Support the modification and maintenance of an existing Microsoft Access database for tracking approximately 750 Sailors in the Train to Qualify (T2Q) pipeline. Create and maintain queries, reports, and automated processes using SQL, VBA, and related tools. Participate in regular and ad hoc meetings to provide updates, troubleshoot data challenges, and implement process improvements. Deliver required T2Q reports and design documentation within 30 days of contract start. Assist in the design of metrics to support operational availability (Ao/Am), Preventative Maintenance Availabilities (PMAVs), and cannibalization tracking.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related discipline; or equivalent experience in a military or commercial setting. At least 3 years of experience in database development and maintenance. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Access, SQL, SharePoint, VBA, and HTML. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a technical team environment. U.S. Citizenship and current SECRET clearance.
