About the Role
We’re seeking a Senior Report Developer to join a high-impact team tasked with migrating 300+ legacy reports into a modern Snowflake-based architecture. This is a hands on, detail oriented role for a developer experienced in SQL based ETL, performance tuning, and Snowflake optimization. You’ll help drive the transformation of data pipelines and reporting solutions while collaborating closely with business stakeholders to ensure scalable, efficient reporting systems.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and optimize complex SQL and T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL workflows.
Re-engineer existing SSIS packages into Snowflake-compatible SQL logic.
Design and implement data models, including fact/dimension structures and slowly changing dimensions (SCDs).
Work with GitLab for version control and code promotion across environments (Dev Test Prod).
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, document solutions, and ensure alignment with data/reporting needs.
Optimize SQL and Snowflake pipelines for performance and scalability.
Assist in handling file triaging with Python (e.g., zipping/encryption of locally stored files).
Use Control-M for orchestrating job schedules and workflows.
Must-Have Skills
Expert-level SQL, T-SQL, and stored procedures
Strong background in ETL processes and data modeling
Solid experience with Snowflake including tasks, streams, warehouses, and SnowSQL
SQL performance tuning experience in large datasets
Experience using GitLab for code versioning and release workflows
Nice-to-Have Skills
Control-M job orchestration
Experience with AWS services, especially S3
Familiarity with SSIS and migrating SSIS logic into SQL/Snowflake
Python for handling file-level automation (zipping, encryption, etc.)
Ideal Candidate Profile
7+ years in data/reporting development roles
Deep knowledge of Snowflake platform internals and optimization strategies
Comfortable owning migration projects, working independently, and driving results
Strong communicator capable of gathering requirements and collaborating across teams
Detail-oriented with strong documentation and troubleshooting skills
