The Decommissioning Team is responsible for processing andfacilitating large scale legacy Data Center equipment through aliquidation process to ensure that targeted equipment is ready tobe removed off premises. Team members will also process largevolumes of customer media to ensure that all customer media issanitized and properly managed. Accountability of equipmentthroughout the process is important for maintaining the team’s highstandard. Technicians will be working in a team environment notonly with other members of the team, but also from other teams andmust be able to communicate and promote cross-team functionality.
Amazon Data Centers protect customer data with utmost vigilance,and selected candidates must be able to perform repetitive taskswithout fault and adhere to strict Standard Operating Procedures(SOP) that ensures customer data is protected and properly handled.

- Take ownership oftechnical issues brought by their customer base, engaging otherteams when needed to drive resolution
- Show a strong aptitude fortroubleshooting and problem solving
- Solve problems at their rootand step back to understand the broader context
- Demonstrate theability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in cramped and/or elevatedlocation
- Maintain service level agreements through theimplementation of proactive issue detection and reporting
- Arebiased to act in the absence of direction or support
- Improveeffectiveness through process innovation This position willprimarily be based out of Culpeper, VA but the candidate selectedmust be able travel to Warrenton and Alexandria, VA as needed.
Thisposition requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen andmust currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI securityclearance with polygraph. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 1 years ofcomputer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
- Highschool or equivalent diploma
- Current, active US GovernmentSecurity Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS
- 1 years of data center experience
- Decommissioning and processing of legacy hardware out of the datacenter facilities, unpacking/repacking fragile electronics, andrelocating and moving of large enterprise equipment
- Hard driveinstallation and removal, and destruction and basic Networkingremoval/installation and clearing of configurations
- Familiaritywith basic PC components/hardware: HDD/SSD/Flash/Removable storagemedia Ram/CPU/Motherboard/Input-Output devices
