Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • The Lead Database Administrator is recognized as a technical authority in database administration, possessing extensive experience and deep expertise in advanced database technologies, architecture, and industry best practices
  • They provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of enterprise-wide database strategies, ensuring alignment with critical business objectives, evolving industry standards, and emerging technologies
  • They provide expert-level guidance, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to all Database Administrators, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement
  • They lead the design and implementation of highly complex database solutions, including high-availability clusters, multisite disaster recovery systems, and cloud-native database deployments
  • They conduct advanced performance optimization, proactive capacity planning, and comprehensive security assessments to ensure optimal database performance, scalability, and security posture
  • They collaborate with application developers, Architects, business stakeholders, and executive leadership to design and implement efficient data models, enterprise-level database solutions, and comprehensive data governance policies Additional Information Help for Additional Information.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field
  • 12+ years of expeirence with 7+ years of position-specific relevant experience.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification.
  • Strong understanding of database architecture, indexing, and query optimization.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting DoD programs and with cloud-based technologies, Risk Management Framework, and Zero Trust Architecture. ITIL Foundation certificate. Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle DBA, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator) are a plus.
  • Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.

g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.

Clearance Requirements:
  • Must have an active/current Secret security clearance.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time
  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
