Data Center Technician Position Summary:
We’re looking for a dependable and detail-focused Data Center Technician to become part of our team. This role is hands-on and involves installing, assembling, and maintaining IT hardware in a fast-paced data center setting.
Primary Responsibilities:
Hardware Installation:
Mount servers, switches, routers, and other devices into racks or cabinets.
Cabinet Assembly:
Build and configure cabinets following safety guidelines and design standards.
Cable Organization:
Neatly route, label, and secure cables to maintain clean and efficient layouts.
Basic Equipment Testing:
Power up hardware and perform preliminary diagnostics.
Facility Support:
Assist in monitoring environmental conditions such as temperature and power.
Recordkeeping:
Maintain detailed logs of hardware installations, updates, and configurations.
Safety Protocols:
Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the work environment.
Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience performing rack and stack duties in a data center Solid understanding of servers, network equipment, and hardware configuration basics Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, working in confined areas, and standing or kneeling for long periods Strong attention to detail and high standards for cable management Basic troubleshooting abilities and a proactive approach to reporting hardware issues Strong team collaboration and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Background working in large-scale data center operations Familiarity with standard racking systems and best practices for cabling Working knowledge of networking hardware (e.g., switches, routers) and server configuration
