Role Summary:

We are seeking a versatile and experienced mid-level Automation & Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in database management (with a specific requirement for Airtable expertise), process automation using no-code/low-code platforms (Airtable, Zapier, Make, N8N), and scripting (Python and/or JavaScript). This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining efficient database solutions and automated workflows that support our core business operations. The successful candidate will also be responsible for change management processes related to these systems and maintaining comprehensive documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Administration & Management (Airtable Focus): Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable Airtable bases, including schema design, field configuration, views, and relationships. Ensure data integrity, security, and accuracy within Airtable and connected systems. Develop and implement data validation rules, backup procedures, and recovery plans for Airtable environments. Manage user access, permissions, and roles within Airtable. Monitor database performance and optimize for efficiency and scalability. Troubleshoot and resolve any database-related issues in a timely manner.

Process Automation & No-Code/Low-Code Development:

Identify opportunities for process automation across various departments using Airtable, Zapier, Make.com, and/or N8N. Design, develop, test, and deploy automated workflows and integrations between Airtable and other business applications (e.g., CRM, finance systems, project management tools). Build custom applications and interfaces within Airtable to meet specific business needs. Maintain and optimize existing automations, ensuring reliability and efficiency.

Scripting & Development:

Utilize Python and/or JavaScript to develop custom scripts for data manipulation, advanced automation logic, API integrations, and extending the capabilities of no-code/low-code platforms. Develop and maintain scripts for data migration, transformation, and synchronization tasks. Work with APIs to connect various systems and services.

Change Management & Documentation:

Develop and implement change management processes for new or modified database structures and automations. Communicate changes effectively to stakeholders and provide necessary training and support. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database schemas, automated workflows, scripts, system configurations, and standard operating procedures. Ensure documentation is kept up-to-date and accessible to relevant team members.

Collaboration & Support:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data and automation needs and translate them into technical solutions. Provide technical support and guidance to users on Airtable, automated processes, and related tools. Stay current with new features and capabilities of Airtable, Zapier, Make, N8N, and other relevant technologies.

Required Skills & Experience:

Proven experience (3-5 years) in a technical role involving database administration, process automation, or systems development.

Mandatory:

Demonstrable expertise in designing, building, and administering Airtable bases, including complex data models, formulas, and automations. Proficiency in scripting with Python and/or JavaScript for automation and data manipulation. Experience with at least one major no-code/low-code automation platform such as Zapier, Make.com, or N8N (experience with multiple platforms is highly preferred). Solid understanding of database concepts (relational and non-relational), data modeling, and data security best practices. Experience with API integrations and data synchronization. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Experience in creating technical documentation and managing change processes. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
