GA Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain our Oracle database systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring high performance, availability, security, and integrity of all Oracle databases. This role requires a deep understanding of Oracle architecture, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to support mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle databases and related tools.
Perform regular database maintenance, backups (using RMAN), and recovery operations.
Monitor database performance and proactively optimize SQL queries and system configuration.
Manage database storage, tablespaces, schema objects, and user roles.
Apply patches, hotfixes, and security updates in compliance with change management.
Implement high availability (RAC, Data Guard), disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
Collaborate with developers to review and optimize database queries and procedures.
Ensure database security by implementing access controls and auditing.
Automate routine database tasks using shell scripting or PL/SQL.
Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Proven experience (3 7 years) as an Oracle DBA in production environments.
Strong knowledge of Oracle Database versions [Insert version range, e.g., 12c/19c/21c].
Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, OEM, and Data Pump.
Proficiency in
PL/SQL, SQL
•Plus, and scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
Understanding of database security, backup strategies, and high availability concepts.
Familiarity with Linux/UNIX environments and basic system administration.
Preferred Qualifications:
Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP).
Experience with cloud platforms (OCI, AWS RDS for Oracle, Azure).
Exposure to DevOps practices or automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
Knowledge of other RDBMS (e.g., MySQL, Postgre
SQL, SQL
Server) is a plus.
