Job Description SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PeopleSoft Server Administrator with expertise in WebLogic to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of PeopleSoft applications and WebLogic servers running on Microsoft servers. This role requires a deep understanding of PeopleSoft architecture, WebLogic server management, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, configure, and maintain PeopleSoft applications: Administer Peoplesoft Internet Architecture (PIA), Application Server, Process Scheduler, and Web Server Components. Ensure the smooth operation of PeopleSoft environments, including development, testing, and production, on Microsoft servers.
- Manage WebLogic servers: Oversee the installation, configuration, and administration of WebLogic servers to support PeopleSoft applications.
- Monitor system performance: Regularly check system performance and implement necessary optimizations to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues: Identify and resolve technical issues related to PeopleSoft and WebLogic, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
- Perform upgrades and patches: Apply necessary updates, patches, and upgrades to PeopleSoft applications and WebLogic servers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with developers, database administrators, and other IT staff to support PeopleSoft applications and ensure seamless integration.
- Develop and maintain documentation: Create and update technical documentation, including installation guides, configuration procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Ensure security and compliance: Implement security measures and ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.
WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. + 5+ years of experience in PeopleSoft administration and WebLogic server management. + Strong knowledge of PeopleSoft architecture and components. + Proficiency in WebLogic server installation, configuration, and administration. + Experience with PeopleSoft upgrades, patches, and migrations including PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM), Change Assistant and DPKs. + Working knowledge of PeopleCode, Application Designer, SQR/SQL for support purposes. + Familiarity with Microsoft server environments. + Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. + Strong communication and collaboration skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with other middleware technologies + Certifications in PeopleSoft or WebLogic administration.
