As the Senior Database Administrator (Oracle), you will provide architectural leadership focusing on data and database administration, including designing database schema and data integration. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Handle deployment and oversee maintenance of new databases, new schemas, and new database objects
  • Contribute to defining application database standards and creating application data models
  • Handle database performance in the context of applications while working closely with infrastructure and application teams
  • Act as a liaison among project management, technical teams, and IT leadership; assure best practices are defined and followed; drive consistency across applications and projects wherever possible
  • Assist application developers with SQL tunin
  • Mentor developers and help resolve technical roadblocks; identify organizational/team challenges and address them with management
  • Contribute to the evaluation, selection and implementation of new tools
  • Develop tools and processes to improve productivity of project teams in the context of data What you need to succeed at
GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Advanced knowledge of database technologies with expertise in Oracle technologies
  • Solid proficiency with SQL and knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL
  • Solid Linux and shell scripting experience It’d be great if you also have:
  • Oracle database certification
  • Programming experience with Python and Java
  • Experience with Erwin and Exadata
  • Logistics industry experience
