  • TheAdvancement Data Servicesdepartment specifically focuses on managing the data and systems that support fundraising, donor relations, and alumni engagement.

This department supports the goals of the University and the VSU Foundation. We are primarily responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing data systems related to donors, alumni, and prospects. We are also responsible for the accurate input of donor and constituent information as well as entering, storing, maintaining, and retrieving data.

Typical Allocation of Duties:

Database Management and Integrity-40%Responsible for managing and maintaining database integrity, generating reports, supporting users with data entry and troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with data security and privacy policies.

Reporting and Data Analysis-25%Generate custom reports, conduct data audits and cleanup, and assist with data segmentation and analysis for targeted outreach and operational improvements.

User Support and Training-15%Provide database support, train staff on best practices and tools, and troubleshoot technical issues to ensure accurate data access and entry.

Administrative and Compliance Responsibilities-20%Serve as the primary contact for database inquiries, maintain documentation for procedures and guidelines, and ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations.

Supervisor Expectations

  • Maintain database security and ensure the records are accurate and up to date
  • Create timely and accurate reports within Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge as well as Excel reports using data exported from Raiser’s Edge
  • Create lists and distribute them for use in contacting alumni and donors through mailings, eBlasts, and phone calls
  • Import graduates and other constituents record updates into Raiser’s Edge
  • Train students and staff in departmental policies and procedures related to the Foundation software as well as troubleshoot and provide technical support.
