Work you’ll do Responsible for activities related to the administration of database management systems, including installation, configuration, migration, patching, monitoring, performance troubleshooting, security & controls, business continuity planning, and change implementation. Researches business requirements and assists with developing specifications for database deployment and maintenance. Works to ensure database efficiency, safety of information, and utilization of new technical developments. Provides assistance with creating administrative policies and procedure and monitoring compliance with established guidelines. May serve internal or external clients. Provides day-to-day administration of databases including activities such as installations, migrations, deployments, service requests, and patching/upgrades. Enforces established best practices in database modeling, including design, indexing strategies, and SQL coding. Assists the development organization with assistance in following standards. Participates in after-hours on-call support on a rotating basis. Monitors relational databases to optimize database performance, resource use, and physical implementations of databases; Address a variety of database integration issues including migration between disparate databases, integration, maintenance, conversion, capacity planning issues, and new applications. Represents the database team in troubleshooting calls and war room efforts. Assists in developing and documenting policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and ensuring compliance with database environment. Plans, coordinates, and implements security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification, or disclosure. Performs daily system health checks and reports results to ensure overall environment health. Designs and develops processes to ensure that database backups are completed and verified on a regular basis, providing the ability to reliably restore databases for critical firm applications. Assists in the resolution of technology end user incidents, service requests, or other issues related to the database. Represents the database team in supporting business continuity planning, configuration, documentation, and testing. Conducts research to evaluate ancillary systems for continuous improvement in team processes and capabilities. Creates proof of concept environments, performs evaluations, presents findings, and makes recommendations for procurement. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required:

8+ years of experience in database administration, including the applicable DBMS (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or other) or 6 years of experience with an advanced degree 3+ years of experience with cloud-based hosting environments, especially Azure, AWS, or Google. 1+ in enterprise database monitoring and backup/recovery tools Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, MIS, Computer Applications, Accounting, or related field and/or equivalent professional experience Must be a US Citizen Ability to travel 0-10%, on average, based on the work you do

Preferred:

Proficient skills in Microsoft Windows and/or Unix-based operating systems Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows client operating systems.
