Global Financial Firm located in Jersey City, NJ has animmediate contract for an experienced Data Center Consultant 12

Month Contract Hybrid- Onsite Rate:

$591/daily on JOB DESCRIPTIONDuties in Scope Installing and un-installing hardware in the DataCenter Running UTP and fiber cables in the Data Center Provide andmaintain data cabling and associated documentation within the datacenter. Managing a DCIM tool Perform basic networktroubleshooting/diagnosis Utilize network test equipment includinga power meter and light source, CAT 6 Cable Tester. Provide supportat multiple sites stretching across multiple cities. Replacedefective components and test the final product to assure thatquality requirements are met Communicate effectively in tickets,emails or messaging applications with management and peers Goodorganization skills. Neatness counts Possess a valid driver licenseand reliable transportation Ability to carry and/or lift tools,kits or parts of up to 50-75 lbs. Completion pf paperwork includingtime sheet, expense reports, and daily reports accurately and ontime Assist with shipping and receiving and its associatedprocesses Work with vendors and internal requesters totroubleshoot/resolve issues Provide proactive and break fix supportfor alarm/ticket remediation related tofacilities/telecom/datacenter equipment Key Competencies Planningand Organizing Reporting Record keeping Managing Tasks Excellentcommunication and organizational skills Strong team player Skills,Knowledge and Experience Demonstrated experience with data centercabling and racking. Familiar with Data Center environment,topologies pre-terminated fiber Knowledgeable in Data centerpractices (i.e. basic fault tolerance, cable routing, calculatingpower usage) Strong knowledge of UTP, Fiber Optic, Serial andCoaxial cabling standards and limitations. Strong knowledge ofcommonly used single and multimode optics (Cisco 1G, 10G, 40G,100G) Manage all documentation, new implementations, hardwareupgrades and planned maintenance. Preferred 1 year experienceworking in a production datacenter preferably in the financialindustry. Associate’s Degree in related field preferred Workingknowledge of computer hardware Dell certifications preferredService Locations Equinix
