Full Job Description Job Overview Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Install and commission DC power systems , including•48V power plants, VRLA or Li-ion battery strings, rectifiers, and BDFBs, per engineering specs and OEM standards. Conduct site surveys and load studies , verifying environmental, electrical, and physical site conditions prior to installation. Perform battery testing (load and capacity) and verify performance metrics using calibrated tools and test procedures. Complete grounding and bonding from AGB to racks, equipment, and cable trays in compliance with NEC and telecom grounding standards. Terminate cabling , install lugs, land conductors on breakers/fuses, and perform live work safely when required and authorized. Coordinate with PMs and customer reps on-site to align with project timelines, logistics, and safety protocols. Label equipment and cables , take detailed photos for documentation, and upload complete closeout packages to customer portals. Lead or assist a team of installers, mentoring Level 1-2 techs on tools, safety, and best practices. Ensure job site compliance with OSHA 30 standards, internal QA guidelines, and customer-specific protocols.

Top Responsibilities:

Safe, code-compliant installation and commissioning of DC power systems in telecom or data center environments. Accurate completion of project documentation, including schematics redlines, test results, and punch list items. Onsite leadership of small crews or independent execution of full-scope installations.

Top Skills Required:

Advanced knowledge of•48V DC power systems , including rectifiers, battery chemistries (VRLA/Li-ion), BDFBs, and grounding infrastructure. Ability to read, interpret, and redline telecom drawings , such as one-line diagrams, rack elevations, and grounding layouts. Strong troubleshooting abilities in live plant environments — able to isolate and resolve faults without service disruption.

Certifications:

OSHA 30 (required) CPR/First Aid (required) DC Power OEM Certifications (preferred — e.g., Vertiv , Alpha , Eltek , GE/Lineage ) RF Awareness (preferred if working near cellular infrastructure)

Experience:

4-7+ years of hands-on experience with telecom DC power systems 2+ years in a Level 3 role, leading teams or executing full installs independently

Soft Skills:

Strong communication and customer-facing professionalism Detail-oriented, organized, and thorough in documentation Proactive, self-starter attitude — shows up prepared, takes initiative Willing and able to train/mentor junior technicians onsite
