Job Summary The Manager of Donor Data and Digital Engagement is a key on-site advancement systems leader at Tuskegee University. This role oversees all aspects of alumni and donor database integrity and digital communication, serving as the lead administrator for both Raiser’s Edge NXT and Almabase—the university’s two most critical systems for advancement services and digital engagement.
This position ensures that both platforms are accurate, integrated, and optimized for communications, fundraising, and reporting. The Manager also works closely with the Development and Alumni Communications Manager, Senior Director of Alumni and Constituent Engagement, and Executive Director of Development to deploy targeted, data-driven digital outreach efforts.
Essential Job Duties CRM and Platform Administration
Serve as the lead administrator for Raiser’s Edge NXT and Almabase, managing all technical configurations, integrations, permissions, and user roles
Maintain data integrity and synchronization between the two platforms, ensuring donor and alumni records are accurate, consistently coded, and actionable
Serve as the primary liaison to Blackbaud (RE
NXT/FE NXT
) and Almabase support teams, managing updates, escalations, and strategic vendor communication
Lead all platform audits and troubleshooting to ensure smooth and consistent operation across all donor systems
Data Integrity and Records Oversight
Manage all alumni and donor data entry protocols, including imports, exports, de-duplication, biographical updates, and segmentation
Conduct regular data hygiene efforts to maintain high standards of CRM integrity and campaign readiness
Collaborate with colleagues across the division to uphold best practices in recordkeeping and reporting
Donor Communications and Campaign Deployment
Manage all email-based and online donor communications through Raiser’s Edge and Almabase, including giving appeals, event promotions, and newsletters
Design, build, and launch digital giving forms, campaign pages, and fundraising microsites using Almabase
Collaborate with the Development and Alumni Communications Manager and campaign leadership on content, segmentation, and delivery strategy
Ensure digital messaging complies with privacy, accessibility, and
CAN-SPAM
requirements
Reporting and Strategic Insights
Generate reports and dashboards that provide clear insights into giving patterns, email performance, and digital engagement
Produce custom lists and exports for development officers, alumni staff, and university leadership
Help define KPIs for digital communications and online giving, and make ongoing recommendations for performance improvement
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training) Bachelor’s degree
Proficiency in using reporting and data visualization tools within CRM platforms
Physical Demands Ability to operate standard office equipment
Ability to walk short distances
Ability to lift and carry parcels, packages and other items
Ability to view a computer terminal
Skills and Attributes Knowledge:
Proven expertise managing CRM data, maintaining platform integrity, and working with third-party vendors
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); familiarity with fundraising or CRM platforms (e.g., Raiser’s Edge) is a plus.
Strong writing, communication, and editing skills with an ability to produce high-quality materials for internal and external audiences.
Proven organizational and project management skills, with keen attention to detail and s proactive approach to problem-solving.
Experience managing or working with scholarship systems (e.g., AcademicWorks, Blackbaud Award Management, etc.) strongly preferred.
