Are you a data enthusiast with a knack for strategic design and implementation? We’re looking for a Data Warehouse and Big Data Manager to lead our data initiatives and ensure high data availability and integrity. This role requires expertise in both traditional data warehousing and big data architectures, including data marts, data stores, and data lakes. The manager will evaluate and select infrastructure components, such as software, hardware, database management systems, and big data tools, to ensure scalable and efficient data ecosystems. Assess and establish long-term strategic goals for our production site’s data warehousing and data lakes in collaboration with stakeholders, data users, and department managers. Plan and implement capacity expansions to ensure scalability for data warehouses and data lakes. Develop data quality standards and protocols to enable efficient use of data in the organization. Identify inefficiencies, data discrepancies, and quality issues, implementing solutions to ensure data consistency and integrity. Conduct research and recommend products, services, protocols, and standards to support procurement and development. Evaluate and select components, including hardware, database management systems, ETL software, data mining tools, and metadata management tools. Oversee data collection, master data, and databases in our SQL environment. Support the organization with data that requires complex questions in SQL and Python. Execute configurations, updates, and system monitoring within the data ecosystem. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a closely related field 5+ years of data/IT/systems related experience 3 years of experience in designing, building, configuring, and supporting data warehouses and big data solutions Python development experience Experience of managing SQL databases and writing complex queries Strong understanding of relational database principles, data warehousing best practices, and data lake architecture. Hands-on experience with relevant areas such as data architecting, data mining, large-scale data modeling, and requirements analysis. Proficiency in big data components such as Hadoop, Hive, NoSQL, and Kafka, and knowledge of data security tools like Atlas and Ranger. Certifications in relevant technologies are preferred.
