Job Description
Director of Technology Services Regional School District No. 17 57 Little City Rd, Higganum, CT 06441 The Technology and Data Manager provides district and school-level technology support for RSD17. This involves the planning, budgeting, supporting, and training aspects of all the district’s technology needs. The IT Manager will provide insight into emerging technologies, ensuring that infrastructure supports long-term objectives. Essential Functions The job description is illustrative and not a complete itemization of all duties and responsibilities. Lead the technology department and provide ongoing strategic recommendations and analysis to the Director of Finance & Operations in pursuit of attaining district goals Lead efforts to optimize digital tools and resources to support organizational goals and efficiency Serve as the lead contact for the Student Information System Maintain, manage, ensure compliance with state criteria, and provide training for the Student Information System Update the district’s websites and Google Sites (district, schools, departments, capital plan) Ensure uploading of BOE meeting videos, agendas, and minutes Manage data collection, verification, and uploading to the CT SDE Public School Information System (PSIS) Manage state credential sites (Directory Manager, Contacts Manager, EdSight Manager, TCS Manager) Manage mass communication systems Manage copier leases and support the RFP process in collaboration with the Director of Finance and Operations Plan and budget for technology needs, complete necessary RFPs, and review leases Provide technical support for meetings and events as requested by district staff Manage the Technology Department staff workload, monitor quality, and complete annual performance evaluations Support internet safety/web filter software (e.g., GoGuardian) and communicate with school principals regarding issues Assist in establishing and enforcing standards, policies, and procedures for the student information management system Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, determine the cause of errors and/or stoppages, and apply corrective techniques Assist school personnel in implementing procedures for the management of student data Submit district-mandated data reports to state and federal agencies Produce reports as required for state reporting and audit purposes Provide support for instructional technology Manage expenses and budget for technology costs Promote and maintain the security of data and systems Provide technical support for BOE/Sub-committee meetings, or other events, during the day and evening Please apply on our website.
