JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for developing and leading the Enterprise-Level Data Product Innovation team. This team focuses on identifying high-value and strategic data needs and leading the development of comprehensive, clean, curated, and continuously updated data products that can be broadly and securely consumed by both analysts and information systems. In collaboration with executive leadership, the Director of Data Product Innovation will define and implement a roadmap for leveraging modern data products and policies while integrating them into the data culture of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. The Director will conduct discovery based on business feedback to identify data and applications suitable for product development while engaging with business partners to define data needs, assess potential ROI, and determine the optimal structure and output of data products. They will lead a team of data engineers in the design, development, execution, and maintenance of data products, ensuring that data artifacts are well-defined, documented, and structured for sustainable and shared usage. Additionally, the Director will partner closely with stakeholders to develop and lead engagement programs for data products, encompassing communications, training, user engagement, and support processes. A key focus of this role is enabling data science operational capabilities through modern data product design and tooling, ensuring that data-driven insights and machine learning models can be effectively operationalized across the organization.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Define and communicate the vision, strategy, and roadmap for data product creation, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market trends.
Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy and roadmap, prioritizing initiatives based on industry trends, internal customer feedback, and business impact.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business-focused teams (revenue, finance, sales, etc.) and executive leadership, to align data product creation efforts with broader business goals and initiatives.
Engage with business stakeholders to understand their data needs, gather feedback, and translate insights into detailed requirements while validating product concepts to ensure maximum value and customer satisfaction.
Work closely with data engineering, data governance, and data analytics/science teams-both internal and external-to develop and deliver innovative data products and solutions.
Manage vendor and external partner relationships, ensuring effective project execution and alignment with business objectives.
Establish and enforce robust data product policies, processes, and standards to maintain high data quality and reliability.
Prepare and present key business cases to support strategic initiatives and drive the expansion of data capabilities.
Analyze disparate internal and external data sources to support product planning and business decision-making.
Oversee the execution of projects, ensuring the adoption of best practices in corporate data culture.
Develop and implement routines and mechanisms to measure product success and drive future improvements based on stakeholder and user feedback.

10+ years of experience in data and/or analytics development and strategy

Familiarity with MPP platforms such as Snowflake, Azure Synapse, and Redshift.
Business intelligence tool experience (Business Objects is a plus).
Proficiency in ETL/data integration tools such as Informatica, DBT, SSIS, or related Data Service Applications.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts, such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
Experience applying statistical techniques, including frequency distribution, variance analysis, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
