DESCRIPTION

PRIMARY ROLE

The Senior Manager, Data Science plays a key role in leading research data harmonization and analysis for the PD GENEration study. This position will serve as a central nexus for measuring progress, expanding reach and impact, and engaging with the PD community. The Senior Manager, Data science will guide data collection, data structure formation and data reporting related to the Parkinson’s Foundation PD GENEration study and the evaluation of other areas. The role encompasses integration and analyses of the PF’s data assets to execute meaningful decision-making and strategic planning.
The successful applicant will work closely with our clinical data management vendor and our internal cross-functional team to combine their data science expertise with the study’s clinical research objectives. These responsibilities require the Senior Manager of Data Science to possess big data management, data visualization, and strategic planning skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Data Integration and Analysis
Lead technical data cleaning, harmonization and integration efforts to ensure data integrity for the PD GENEration study.
Provide data visualization that can be incorporated into reports, presentations, and publications and translates data into insights to support decision making processes.
Identifies opportunities for data-driven improvement on study operation and data management to align data science efforts with study goals.
Oversee implementation of survey data and analyses into overarching research, strategic and operational plans of the PD GENEration study and for key stakeholders.
Manages timelines and coordinates resources to meet study objectives.

Job Complexity:

The job requires the maintenance of up-to-date knowledge of data management and visualization that is presentable to key stakeholders within the Foundation and prospective corporate and research partners.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Master’s degree, preferably in biostatistics, bioinformatics, computer science, public health, or other relevant data science field, or Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in clinical data science and data management.
Proficiency in at least one data visualization platform (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or R preferred).
Experience with big data analytics, manipulation and statistics with proficiency in one coding language (e.g., R or Python preferred).
Experience with EDC and CTMS systems (REDCap expertise required). Knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and database optimization preferred.
Excellent computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office Suite.
Professional presentation, verbal and written communication skills are required.
Excellence in critical thinking and problem solving, and attention to detail with the ability to handle large, complex datasets. Demonstrated ability to collaborate, multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

COMPENSATION

Salary for this position is competitive and depends on prior experience. In addition, a comprehensive benefits package is included. The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $75,000.
