Global Privacy Context
The Global Privacy Office (GPO) is part of the Global Technology (GT) team at (MVW) which is on a multi-year journey to modernize technical and digital products and platforms across all business lines. As part of the GT team, the GPO is continuing to mature and morph to align to the changing ecosystem. This role demands a visionary leader with a strong data governance and/or AI governance background with knowledge about privacy, risk, and AI regulations who can drive the development of a program. Proven success as a leader in recruiting, mentoring, and retaining top talent on high performing teams is required. The incumbent is a proven thought leader, a consensus builder, and an integrator of people, processes, and technology.
Specific Job Summary
The Data Governance & AI Governance (DGAI), Lead reporting to our VP, Data Privacy (acting as the Chief Privacy Officer), will build a Data & AI Governance team to work with analytics, data teams, digital brands, marketing, business, technology leaders, risk management, and subject matter experts, coordinating and driving efforts related to data management, governance and AI governance.
The DGAI, Lead is tasked with establishing and leading a comprehensive data and AI governance framework that aligns with business objectives, regulatory compliance, and ethical AI principles. This role oversees data governance strategy, ensures compliance with AI regulations and risk mitigation, and implements responsible AI and data governance policies across all MVW subsidiaries. Additionally, this role participates as a member of the data enablement committee and is the primary consultant on data governance and AI governance related issues for new initiatives, products, and services.
The role maintains an awareness of federal, state, and international privacy data, and AI laws and standards and applies this knowledge to MVWC business processes and systems including information privacy automation technologies and tools.
As a leadership role within the Global Privacy Office and the greater Global Technology Organization, this position interacts with departments and senior leaders globally across the enterprise including management to senior leadership levels at corporate and site-based locations.

Delivers on MVW’s aspiration of creating an industry leading data governance function, able to deftly balance business opportunity with strategic risk.
Establishes and leads the strategy, direction, objectives, and operations for the global Data Governance organization.
Partners with Data Analytics to implement a cohesive data governance program.
Examines trends, develops insight, and collaborates on solutions with Digital Brands to strengthen and sustain analytics.
Coordinates closely with cross-functional internal teams to design our internal and external narrative regarding policy matters.
Identifies, reviews, and tracks current capacity, capability, and target operating model; provides business friendly metrics.
Drives data governance culture, specifically influences self-identification and disclosure of control self-assurance gaps.
Maintains strong engagement across multiple stakeholders, collaborates with key senior business partners and stays abreast on risk, control agendas.
Participate in Governance & AI Committees, ensuring cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders across data, IT, legal, and business units.
Collaborate with Global Tech teams to implement risk-mitigating controls.
Ensure AI models adhere to responsible AI principles, preventing algorithmic discrimination and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with Data Science, Engineering, and Product teams to integrate AI ethics and governance standards into product development and deployment.
Provide strategic guidance to integrate privacy considerations into new hospitality technologies and customer engagement strategies.

Manages all aspects of FTE (hiring, , training, mentoring, and resource management) of a globally dispersed multi-disciplined team. Oversees contractors, vendors, or other similar resources that collaborate with multiple levels across the organization.
