BIM Specialist A BIM Specialist, or building information modeling specialist, is a professional who oversees the creation, management, and updating of a company’s (client’s) BIM model. They work in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sector and are responsible for implementing BIM procedures, standards and operations throughout the design, construction, and handover phases of a project. Some of the responsibilities of a BIM Specialist include: Prototype Management –
Creation and Maintenance:
Creating families and organizing family libraries, while adhering to the company and client BIM standards
Data Management:
ensure consistent and accurate information is obtained
Quality Control:
identifying and correcting errors to maintain data integrity
Maintenance:
updating frequently with client revisions and design changes Solution oriented: assisting with problem solving for client needs within the BIM prototype model and standards
Collaborating:
Working with clients, contractors, design teams, and supply chains
Training:
