HIRING PROCESS:

PRE-EMPLOYMENT SCREENINGS

Brenau University will conduct criminal background checks on all persons being considered for initial employment. In some circumstances, an FBI fingerprint report may be necessary to satisfy the requirement. Once employed, employees must hold and continue to maintain a favorable criminal history background. Random background checks are performed. Credit checks may be performed on candidates/employees who are selected for a position that regularly engages in handling credit cards or other company monies. A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) may be performed during the hiring process, or as part of a random check. MVR checks are required to meet insurance requirements for those employees operating a university vehicle or participating in any driving activity on behalf of Brenau University, (including operating a golf cart, rented vehicle or one’s personal vehicle). Employees who travel must be at least 25 years of age, have a valid Georgia driver’s license, and good driving record. All employees who operate university vehicles, who are employed in a sensitive position, or who travel regularly as part of their job responsibilities may be subject to post-hire drug screening and random drug-screening. All employees are subject to reasonable suspicion drug screening.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, social sciences, mathematics). Duties and Responsibilities:

Act as a point of contact between Academic Affairs and other University offices to ensure timely and productive communication and alignment on data collection needs and processes. Help the institutional research office with benchmarking metrics for the university against data collected in other institutions. Compile and organize data into usable formats to support institutional reports and presentations for internal and external audiences. Support assessment and institutional research teams, as well as users across the institution, in collecting, entering, and accessing key databases and our data data repository software. Verify and validate collected data to maintain high standards of quality and reliability for institutional reporting and decision-making. Create / update end user documentation and other resources related to data collection processes and related software. Provide support to related offices in Academic Affairs, such as the Center for Teaching and Learning and the Center for Lifetime Study. Assist in addressing urgent or specific data-related inquiries, demonstrating flexibility, the ability to prioritize, and attention to detail. Provide direct technical support to institutional users of data collection systems Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No supervisory responsibilities required.

Work Hours & Schedule:

Full-time. 37.5 hours per week. Generally, Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Hours may be extended to meet the needs of the department.

Environmental and Working Conditions/ Physical Demands and Aptitudes:

Sedentary work. Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Able to travel as needed. Must be able to operate and drive a motor vehicle. Must have the ability to travel short distances. Exerting up to 15 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
