Overview
The offices of Lewis Brisbois are seeking an Information Governance Specialist. The Information Governance (IG) Specialist is a firmwide role responsible for executing IG-related tasks received through various channels, including ticketing system, email, telephone, chat, and in-person. The IG Specialist’s key responsibilities include managing network drive folders, maintaining Point sites, coordinating electronic data transfers, monitoring IG Department mailboxes, ensuring data storagepliance with the Firm’s IG Policy, overseeing IG requests, and conductingpliance checks. Additional duties and responsibilities maybe assigned by either the IG Manager or CIO.
The following list of essential functions is not exhaustive and other duties may be assigned in addition to those listed. The items listed are considered daily functions associated with this position. Executes secure electronic data transfers into and out of the firm.
Handles data imports, exports, migrations, and relocation of data within the firm’s approved authorized storage environments.
Executes network drive folder and Point sitepliance and security.
Processes andpletes tasks assigned through the firm’s IG ticketing platform.
Monitors and responds to messages in department mailboxes.
Performs quality control checks to ensurepliance with the firm’s IG Policy.
Collaborates with Records and Information Management, Litigation Support, and eDiscovery to ensure data integrity.
Provides first-level IG support to attorneys and firm personnel.
Engages IT Department when necessary to assist with technical issues.
Elevates issues or concerns to IG leadership when necessary.
Attends regular IG Department team meetings.
Provides support during internal and client audits.
Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Proficient with the Document Management Systems, Proficient understanding of IG, IT Security, and Records and Information policies and procedures.
Understanding of law firm environment and workflows.
Ability to follow written procedures, follow instructions, and observe Firm policy and procedures.
Promotes and contributes to a positive and professional working environment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Position is sedentary and involves sitting, typing, and the visual examination of ticketing system, applications, and network s on multiple screens .
Ability to work beyond required hours, including unplanned overtime as needed when necessary.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Experience with Microsoft’s Office and PDF software.
Experience with data Import and Export tools
Experience with file sharing platforms.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Possess strongmunication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to changes in procedures, and be able to effectivelymunicate information and instructions to others.
Ability to use time efficiently, prioritize tasks, and take initiative.
Ability to pay attention to detail.
Ability to work successfully with limited supervision in an atmosp of multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadline pressure.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education:

College degree preferred with coursework in Data Management and Records and Information Management or equivalent.

Experience:

Minimum three (3) years in a law firm, customer service position, and working in a team environment. Lewis Brisbois is not accepting search firm submissions for this position.
