POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to our Senior Director, Medical Affairs, the Manager, Medical Information (MI) will provide accurate, timely, and unbiased medical and scientific information about Disc’s therapeutic areas to optimize internal and external customer communications. This includes establishing, maintaining, and utilizing product/disease state subject matter expertise to respond to unsolicited inquiries form HCPs and consumers, requests submitted by field Medical and Commercial teams, and MI inquiries escalated from MI Call Center staff. The Manager, Medical Information will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain MI materials and manage Disc’s MI database and call center.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the development, approval, and maintenance of global and region-specific medical/technical Standard Response Letters (SRLs) and FAQs for product inquiries from internal and external customers including HCPs and patients/consumers.
Summarize literature and clinical guidelines and assist in development/approval of Data on File in accordance with established policies and practice standards. Ensure content conveys a clear and appropriate medical message.
Assist with development and oversee day-to-day maintenance of a comprehensive MI database and call center, ensuring accuracy and currency of information.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, Field Medical, and Legal/Compliance to develop and maintain medical information materials.
Represents Disc at key scientific conferences and works cross-functionally to design and authorize floor plans and logistics for MI booths, as required.
Independently performs literature searches, evaluates data, and maintains an in-depth understanding of product knowledge, associated disease areas, treatment guidelines, labeling, and relevant internal data for all of Disc’s products and pipeline assets.
Assists in providing solutions to deliver MI to customers in unique and innovative ways (e.g., podcasts, video, SMS).
Works with HEOR and Market Access colleagues to assist in the development of value communications (e.g., AMCP dossier) including reviewing content as necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
Advanced relevant degree or professional credentials preferred (e.g., PhD/PharmD or
PA/NP/MD
).
3+ years of relevant biotech/pharma industry experience or 5+ years of experience in health care related field.
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and effectively communicate.
Must be intellectually curious, professional, and adaptable.
Knowledge of the product-development life cycle, including regulatory processes and product launches.
Highly organized and self-motivated with ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects, determine and meet project objectives, timeline and budget.
Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time to conferences and Disc’s office.
