The Data Architect role will be part of Wealth AssetManagement Engineering (WAME) which is part of Schwab TechnologyServices (STS). The role will provide technical expertise to theWAME Distributions & Operations team and is responsible forend-to-end data integration solutions that supports Distribution &Operations data platforms. The role will be a key player in theimplementation and integration of modern applications that supportbusiness capabilities and build highly scalable data pipelines. Therole will be responsible for formulating the sales data strategy,including standards of data quality, the flow of data within theenvironment, and security of data. This role will facilitate datamodeling and designs with business and technical users, identifyingand profiling data sources, analyzing the business and technicalrequirements, and creating data models and solution design to meetSales business needs. This individual must be an experienced,strong data architect and be focused on assessing our environmentand requirements to design data integrations in conformance to bestpractices. This role will also lead the design of a new datastrategy based on a migration to the public cloud for our datasources and our own environment and technology stack. What you haveThis role requires a highly motivated and experienced DataArchitect who has designed and implemented cross enterprise dataplatforms both cloud-based and on-premises. They will beresponsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing dataarchitectures to ensure the availability, scalability, andreliability of our data solutions. This individual will have prideof ownership reflected through well documented architecture design,the ability to review existing state and offer alternativesolutions and a disciplined software development approach. Thecandidate will be expected to help build a robust data engineeringand architecture practice, dedicating time to mentoring andtraining of data engineers within the team. The individual willneed to display thought leadership through understanding the keybusiness objectives and strategically providing data integrationsolutions to support the data domain within the larger datastrategy of the organization.
Required Qualifications:
- 12 yearsof experience in data architecture/engineering role for large scaleenterprise class data platform
- 5 years of experience working inFinance/Banking/Investment Management related projects
- Deepunderstanding of data ingestion pipelines, data modeling, dataacquisitions, storage, integration and data migration
- Proficiencyin designing and optimizing large-scale data architectures,including the use of cloud platforms
- Strong technical expertisewith MS SQL Server, Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery and SnowFlake
- Proven track record of implementations using InformaticaPowerCenter, IICS, Python, GCP DataFlow
- Experience or knowledgeof Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and DevOpspractices
- Understanding best practices of data governance,security, data quality, and compliance requirements
- Excellentproblem-solving skills, with the ability to design efficient andscalable solutions In addition to the salary range, this role isalso eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
