TITLE:

MTSS – Early Literacy Coordinator/Data Coach ?

REPORTS TO

Federal Programs Director/Superintendent 

PRIMARY GOAL

To be responsible for monitoring the implementation of MTSS Programs within the district. Focusing on improving academic achievement by supporting data analysis and action planning at various levels within the WC school district. To develop and implement programs and resources to support young children’s development of reading and writing skills by working with educators, parents, and community partners to create a literacy-rich environment to provide targeted instruction and support. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Five (5) years of successful classroom experience (Preferred)Master’s degree or higher in Education and/or related field.

Educational Leadership (Preferred)486 Endorsement is requiredValid Educational License

MTSS JOB FUNCTIONS

 Monitor the fidelity of the implementation of MTSS at the school level including both academic and behavior support systems.

Monitor the process to ensure compliance and adherence to district procedures, state guidelines, and federal regulations.

Provides training, consultation, and support to administrators, teachers, and school-based leadership teams to facilitate implementation of MTSS at the district and school levels.

Maintains professional competence through professional reading and attendance of appropriate workshops and conferences in keeping with the needs of student and in accordance with district guidelines.

Monitor data that documents the progress monitoring and interventions of all students at Tier 2 and Tier 3 to ensure the integrity of the interventions.

Provide constructive feedback to each building level principal on the findings of any irregularities of the MTSS process. Documentation must be evident.

Designate the Universal Screening to be used at each school site.

Monitor the Universal Screening schedule at each site.

Ensure a system of student progress monitoring is current and recorded with fidelity.

Schedule and Facilitate District MTSS team.

Submit monthly intervention data reports, identify needs for additional training/support; evaluate the process in order to make changes and/or recommendations to the Superintendent.

EARLY LITERACY JOB FUNCTIONS

 Collaborate within the Department to create school reading strategies, tools, and curriculum and provide feedback to the team.

Communicate and coordinate with assessment team regarding assessments and follow up as neededEstablish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve the desired learning atmosphere.

Collaborate with school staff and parents to coordinate effective learning strategies/accommodations for student.

Assist the Student Services and Support department as neededMaintain necessary documentation of data analysis and program decisions for improvement.

Guides development, implementation, and evaluation of the professional development at the elementary level. 

DATA COACH JOB FUNCTIONS

 Providing support for school staff to use the data produced on a day-to-day basis to improve the effectiveness of classroom instructionTo help school leadership analyze state, federal, and local assessments, formulate insights and use this knowledge to inform their decision-making processesTo pr sent insights they discover in easy-to-understand reports and graphic visualizations, making them immediately usable for the different stakeholders in the school.

To use tools and technology to analyze trends and, where possible, make predictionsWhere necessary, assist staff and teachers with software products and technology that helps capture dataWorking with teachers in school leadership, creating benchmark assessments and analysesTo track metrics and use that information to review progress toward agreed-upon objectives
