About the Agency
This opportunity is a Client Support Technician II position with the Management Information Systems department within MS Department of Child Protection Services. The Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services (MDCPS) is committed to protecting and nurturing Mississippi’s at-risk children and families. MDCPS offers a variety of positions statewide, including social work positions providing case management services and working with potential foster families, supervisor positions providing clinical and administrative support, and agency support positions such as policy development, human resources, information technology, program management, training, and budgeting/finance. About the Position
•This is a time limited position• This position is responsible for managing, securing, and optimizing public cloud environments that support critical child welfare services. This role ensures the availability, security, and performance of cloud-based applications and data infrastructure while maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations. This role helps teams successfully adopt cloud infrastructure and platform services. It is heavily involved in design and implementation activities that result in new or improved cloud-related capabilities, and it brings skills and expertise to such areas as cloud technical architecture (for a workload’s use of infrastructure as a service [laaS] and platform as a service [PaaS] components); automating cloud management tasks, provisioning and configuration management; and other aspects involved in preparing and optimizing cloud solutions. The position works closely with IT leadership, cybersecurity teams, and other MDCPS divisions to support cloud adoption, automation, and operational efficiency. Incumbent is expected to demonstrate strong attention to detail and a customer-centric mindset. Inquisitiveness, determination, creativity, communicative and collaboration skills are important qualities.

Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 2-5+ years of IT experience with emphasis in security and compliance.
