Job Description

JOB RELATIONSHIPS

Responsible to: Chief Information Officer/Chief Privacy Officer

DEFINITION OF POSITION

The PACS Coordinator is responsible for the management of the Picture Archiving and Communication System and its overall maintenance and integration to all DICOM compatible equipment and the Meditech system. Duties will include staff education, troubleshooting and consultation; coordination of system upgrades; daily report functions; works with Financial Systems Analyst and Clinical Systems Analysts to resolves issues and provide optimal support of software.

QUALIFICATIONS

Professional Minimum 2-year associate degree in technical discipline preferred or demonstration of experience. Minimum 2 years experience working with an

RIS/PACS

system. Minimum 3 years experience in DICOM and radiology imaging modalities, general computer network technology. Mathematical, computer, reasoning and language skills at the college level.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY

To demonstrate a working and theoretical knowledge of the Radiology Information Systems. To demonstrate a strong working knowledge of computers and computer systems. To demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills. To demonstrate good communication skills working with staff at all levels in any department to address information system issues, plans and problems. To maintain a strong problem investigation and resolution program.
