Exempt Qualifications Master’s in Educational Administration, or Testing and Evaluation, or a related field,and 5-7 years of experience in educational administration, testing/evaluationadministration; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which providesthe required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Supervises:
PSU Test Coordinators and Data Managers Essential Job Functions:

Oversees all aspects of the testing and accountability program Serves as a liaison between the school district and the local, state, and federal agencies Attends appropriate local, regional and state meetings and trainings Develops system-wide programs, plans and schedules for field testing, annual testing and special studies, including State and Federal components Cooperates with the Exceptional Children’s Department, the English as a Second Language Department and the Section 504 Coordinator to provide appropriate testing opportunities for all students Serves as a trainer involving testing and accountability procedures Monitors compliance with state testing program

  • Managing the Online Testing Irregularity Submission System (OTISS) Supervises the scoring of tests and conducting statistical analysis of test results for all schools and areas of group tests conducted
  • Preparing of informative reports, includinggraphic charts and tables for use by administrators, teachers and the public Develops and coordinates data collection strategies and assists with the collection of data used by administrators, schools and the state Manages the preparation of the annual AYP and State Report Card Assists as a resource person in planning and conducting in-service educational activities involving testing and accountability Provides fiscal management of local and state fund accounts for testing and accountability•Assisting Department involvement and activities with the State Writing Instruction System•Scanning and scoring test operations Keeps continually informed regarding research in educational testing and the development of useful information and software programs for school and classroom use Contributes to the team effort of the Curriculum and Instruction Department as well as to the school system as a whole Performs other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned by the assistant superintendent
Physical and Cognitive Requirements:

The major physical and cognitive requirements listed below are applicable to the LEA Test Coordinator/Student Information Systems Support classification within Hoke County Schools. Work in this classification is considered light physical work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects.

Must be able to:

Prepare, read and comprehend a variety of job related forms, reports, spreadsheets, maps, plans, records, documentation and correspondence in all languages required by the job Understand and conform to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style Speak to individuals or groups of people with poise, voice control and confidence Respond adequately to inquiries or complaints Write using standard convention in all languages required by the job Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic form Communicate effectively and efficiently, both orally and in writing Use/interpret job related terminology, mathematical formulas and functions effectively and efficiently Deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions Perform under stress, deal with persons acting under stress and adapt when confronted with emergency situations Be sensitive to cultural differences among individuals and groups of persons Operate a motor vehicle Operate/use a variety of automated office machines and other office equipment Maintain a working knowledge of computers, software, hardware and computer terminology Troubleshoot common hardware and software problems Maintain a working knowledge of student data, school organization, and student information management systems used by the school Utilize mathematical formulas to add, subtract, multiply, divide, use percentages and decimals Coordinate hands and eyes rapidly and accurately in using office equipment Differentiate between colors and shades of color Maintain considerable knowledge of DPI standards, student accounting procedures and regulations, and state and local requirements as they apply to student information Train users on the use of available hardware and software
