This position is responsible for planning, strategy, vision, and mission. Employee performs highly advanced and supervisory work to carry out Board of Education policies and procedures in strategic and school improvement planning and data integration under the direction of the Associate Superintendent of Data Governance. Salary/Status PG 11/Full-time, 12 months Reports To Associate Superintendent of Data Governance Place of Work The normal place of work is on the premises used by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Essential Functions Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures Lead, manage, supervise, and evaluate assigned staff/programs Lead school improvement, data integration, and monitoring of progress in school improvement and strategic plan Investigate, analyze, and formulate methods for handling special projects/reports Oversee, collaborate, and manage multiple large-scale projects and initiatives under the umbrella of School Improvement and Data Integration Oversee, collaborate, and manage the School Improvement and Data Integration project parameters Oversee the development of detailed documentation outlining the program, including requirements, project plans, and project schedules Coordinate and oversee the translation of partner requirements into specific plans and tasks using knowledge of the school system, the accountability model, curriculum and instruction methodologies, technology resources, and best practices in delivery methodology Oversee the maintenance of accurate records, reports, and inventories Collaborate in the division budget development process; demonstrate use of cost-effective procedures in fiscal management Prepare executive summaries, progress monitoring updates, presentations, or other documents as needed/requested Collaborate in the development of school improvement plans to meet the objectives set forth by the Superintendent and the Board of Education Develop and coordinate specific internal and external communication plans on major school and strategic plans and district initiatives Participate in the development and administration of the department budget Facilitate staff meetings and attend other related meetings as needed/required Participate in professional development workshops and leadership training Create an inclusive environment with positive communication/public relations Perform related work as assigned or required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of public schools Comprehensive knowledge of school board and administrator objectives, procedures, and organization Comprehensive in-depth knowledge and understanding of the principles, practices, and procedures of public school system policies and data use for school improvement Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements applicable to data use for school improvement Thorough knowledge of county and school board policies, procedures, and standards regarding academics and testing Knowledge of the North Carolina Standard Course of Study/Common Core and Essential Standards Knowledge of databases, statistics, and graphical software Ability to maintain professional and emotional control under stress Ability to reflect appropriate response to situations, while maintaining a professional and personal demeanor Ability to learn and use specialized tools, equipment or software related to business needs Ability to develop and monitor a budget Ability to direct and evaluate the work of others Ability to implement local, state, and federal rules, guidelines, and procedures into daily business operations Ability to communicate effectively Ability to reason, make judgments, and maintain effective working relationships Ability to employ positive communication skills in all settings/mediums Ability to problem-solve utilizing sound judgment Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding school system business Ability to develop related charts, graphs, reports, and records pertaining to school planning and strategy Ability to take initiative, work independently, and exercise sound judgement Ability to conceptualize, initiate, monitor, and evaluate new and/or current programs Demonstrated ability to perform detailed work, planning, risk assessments, and associated risk mitigation actions Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven, rapidly changing team environment Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, education, or related field required Master’s degree in education, or quantitative field such as Research, Measurement, or Statistics preferred Minimum of five (5) years’ leadership experience in education preferred Equivalent combination of experience and education Special Requirements Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License or ability to provide own transportation Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings # of Jobs 1.00 Teacher Scale N Minimum Educational Requirements Bachelors Term 12 Month Additional Job Information
