Job Description:
We are looking for a seasoned Associate Director, Data Systems to lead the Company’s commercial data initiatives and operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring data integrity, scalability, and compliance across the Company’s commercial functions, supporting its growth and commitment to delivering therapies for rare diseases. Summary of Key Responsibilities Data Strategy, Governance, and Master Data Management (MDM): Leads design and optimization of scalable data architecture to support growth across new therapeutic areas or markets. Develops and implements a comprehensive data management strategy, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives. Leads MDM initiatives, ensuring HCP, HCO, payer, and master data are accurate and governed. Standardizes data definitions, business rules, and stewardship processes to maintain high-quality commercial data. Establishes data governance policies and compliance frameworks to maintain data integrity and security (HIPAA, GDPR).
Collaboration and Business Enablement:
Partners with Advanced Analytics, Marketing, Market Access, and Sales teams to operationalize use cases to help drive insights from data and inform commercial strategies. Establishes and enforces vendor governance models to ensure SLA and timely change execution. Leads cross-functional projects to enhance analytics capabilities, such as HCP segmentation, payer analytics, promotional effectiveness, and omnichannel marketing performance.
Syndicated Data and Commercial Analytics:
Manages commercial datasets, including IQVIA, Symphony, MMIT Managed Care, HUB, Specialty Pharmacy, and Distributor data (EDI 852, 867, etc.). Ensures data consistency and accuracy across commercial functions (Sales, Marketing, Market Access). Drives standardization and documentation of data pipelines.
Technology and Infrastructure:
Oversees
DWH/ETLMEM
reporting tools. Evaluates and implements new data sources, tools, and automation for commercial analytics. Serves as a key liaison among IT, Advanced Analytics, and Commercial Operations.
Required Qualifications and Skills Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field. 4+ years’ experience in data management, MDM, and commercial analytics within biotech, pharma, or life sciences industries. Experience with commercial datasets, including syndicated data, market access, and sales analytics. Understanding of MDM principles and experience managing HCP, HCO, payer, and product master data. Experience collaborating with global teams, managing cross-regional data integration and global reporting alignment.
Technical Proficiency:
Experience in enterprise data warehousing, ETL processes, and cloud platforms (Zaidyn / Mendidata / Snowflake, Databricks, AWS0 in commercial biopharma setting. Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) and programming languages (SQL, Python, R) for data management and analysis. Understanding of commercial pharma operations, data automation, and AI-driven analytics.
Soft Skills and Leadership:
Strong ability to collaborate across commercial and IT. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Proven track record of leading cross-functional projects, managing vendors, and optimizing commercial data assets.
