PRIMARY ROLE
Amherst Middle School is seeking an information specialist (registrar) to join our team in the 2025-2026 school year (starting July 1, 2025). The successful candidate will manage various functions simultaneously, including managing student registrations, records, and grade reporting, taking the lead on course scheduling, sharing information with parents and the community through social media, weekly newsletters, and special email communications, while supporting the office manager and leadership team. Other duties may be assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
- Ability to work independently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with students and staff
- Excellent communication and computer skills
- Organized, efficient, and reliable
- Works well independently and as part of a team
- Works well under pressure and deadlines, welcomes challenges, and must be able to multi task
- Successful experience and/or training in the field or level within the last five years.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A strong skill set and comfort level with Word, Excel and Google, and willingness to learn new technology and systems is highly valued
- Experience with PowerSchool Student Information software is a plus
- Preferred candidates will have strong proofreading and language skills, demonstrate confidentiality and reliability, and possess effective communication and social skills while being a self-starter
- Enthusiastic, articulate, creative, student-oriented, and caring
- Excellent communication skills, well-developed collaborative skills with other educators.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Web Development/Maintenance includes daily update of information on AMS website-Uploading of data as it pertains to State Testing and assist staff with use of software-Update and complete State attendance and enrollment reports through i4see-Maintain database for parent and staff email system-Manage and maintain student information system (MMS) and provide assistance to staff-Prepare cumulative records, grades, credits, GPA, honor roll, and end-of-year reports-Assist Administration with regard to the Master and Student scheduling-Coordinate as needed regarding New Students, Grade Reporting and Registration
