R9602 Job Summary The Global Medical Information Manager provides accurate, unbiased, balanced, and timely responses to unsolicited medical and clinical inquiries regarding the Company’s products from healthcare professionals, patients, and managed care organizations. Job Description Receives, documents, and responds to written medical information requests. Provides information upon request for medical and clinical inquiries from consumers and healthcare professionals regarding Otsuka products, including, but not limited to, product information and support.
Updates and/or creates scientific response documents pertaining to Otsuka global and regional products. Remains current on all published medical literature for the designated brand and competitors and subsequently performs a critical analysis to determine relevance of that data for inclusion into scientific response documents.
Continuously review metrics on Otsuka products to assure relevance and need of scientific response documents.
Limits corporate liability by meeting the medical ethical and legal responsibilities of providing product/device related information.
Provides process training to sales representatives as needed.
Recognizes and gathers, according to FDA guidelines and company policies, initial information regarding any product complaint or adverse event of which made aware during the handling of medical information and medical device inquiries.
Contributes to interdepartmental projects, and supports the provision of medical, scientific and technical information regarding Otsuka products.
Provide assistance and/or training to other medical information personnel (i.e. consultants).
Provides product training to the contact center and collaborates with the contact center as needed for a specific brand. Liaise with various stakeholders and groups to develop and maintain timely and relevant product expertise
Collaborate and communicate with Medical Affairs staff, participate in cross-functional meetings, and contribute to group discussions. Serves as an educational resource to both internal and external customers.
Attends external medical conferences to represent Otsuka and staffs the Medical Information Booth as needed. Qualifications Required PharmD with a minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in clinical practice or pharmaceutical industry.
Minimum of 1 year experience in Medical Information
Proficient in MS Office applications
Excellent medical writing and verbal communication skills.
Must be detail-oriented with a proven ability to lead projects, multi-task, deliver on commitments and work with multidisciplinary teams. Preferred Residency/fellowship related to Medical Information
Proficient in Information Request Management System (IRMS)
Relevant therapeutic knowledge in Neuroscience, Nephrology or medical devices Competencies

00, plus incentive opportunity: The range shown represents a typical pay range or starting salary for candidates hired to perform the work.
