THE ROLE

We are seeking a mid-level Data Specialist with a strong focus on business data acquisition and Data Quality to support the expansion of our data assets and improve business decision-making. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, integrating, and maintaining high-quality business data from both internal systems and external providers. Your work will enable strategic insights for the Business Information products.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify and acquire relevant internal and external business data (e.g., sales, customer, partner, financial, third-party market data, Public sources).
Collaborate with vendors, Information partners, and data providers to manage incoming data and data investigations with SLA’s in place. Validate incoming datasets to ensure quality, consistency, and usability. Develop investigation model to manage quality issues. Develop and maintain data ingestion pipelines for local data management.
Monitor data freshness, completeness, and integrity using QA frameworks and data profiling tools.
Maintain metadata, source documentation, and data lineage tracking.
Work with business units to understand data sourcing requirements and translate them into acquisition workflows.
Ensure all data acquisition processes comply with data governance, privacy, and security policies Migration support – Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements, set expectations, and ensure clear communication throughout the migration process.

TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS – API

Assessing and executing on the technical needs across various industries with a focus on automating and integrating Product and API’s. Delivers technical expertise with the sales team to expand use cases for Business Information.
Performs customer discovery discussions to understand and document business needs and design requirements necessary for the formulation of optimal solutions.
Documents, via diagrams and writing, and presents the solution to the customer, describes the benefits of the solution.
Builds relationships with customers serving as the technical liaison from pre-sales to post-sales.
Follows industry technology trends through self-study and formal training and shares that knowledge with customers.
Leads internal global cross-functional teams to obtain required approvals of non-standard designs for customers.

THE CANDIDATE

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in a data-centric role, with direct involvement in data acquisition or data integration.
Strong SQL skills and familiarity with APIs, flat files, and batch data transfers.
Hands-on experience working with business data from CRM, ERP, and financial systems.
Strong understanding of data quality concepts, cleansing techniques, and validation rules.
Ability to manage multiple data sources and align them with business needs.
Ability to work US – Remote, Canada – Montreal or Toronto with 25% expected travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Azure, AWS).
Familiarity with data catalog tools and metadata management.
Experience working with external data vendors.
