Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect with a strong background in ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management) systems to lead the design and implementation of data architecture solutions. This role involves translating business needs into technical specifications, developing analytics data models, and supporting insights across risk management, financial reporting, and operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with tools such as Trellis, Power Optics, or other industry-standard ETRM platforms. Key Responsibilities
Lead evaluation of business needs and priorities in ETRM implementations for RNG, Power, and RINs.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications and data models.
Design and develop ETRM analytics data models to support risk, financial, and operational insights.
Build and manage large-scale batch and real-time data pipelines using Python, SQL, Spark, and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Migrate data from on-premises systems to cloud platforms and manage cloud data conversions.
Implement and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
Conduct data quality assessments and lead improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and standards.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define data governance metrics and KPIs.
Develop and maintain a data catalog and documentation for data assets.
Architect and implement large-scale data ecosystems, integrating structured and unstructured data.
Leverage automation and cognitive techniques to manage data and generate insights.
Drive operational efficiency through data ecosystem maintenance and analytics services. Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience in ETRM data architecture, with strong expertise in Trellis, Power Optics, or similar tools.
6+ years of experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
10+ years of experience in SQL, data transformations, and database platforms such as Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Oracle, and DynamoDB.
10+ years of experience designing and building custom ETL/ELT pipelines.
6+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Python, SQL, and Shell.
6+ years of experience with cloud services including S3, Kinesis, RDS, Snowflake, Lambda, Glue, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and DBT.
Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and compliance frameworks.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with advanced analytics and monitoring tools.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and cross-functional team collaboration.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
