Exempt SUMMARY:
This position provides leadership and direction working to analyze data for students with disabilities and using that data to design, plan, and evaluate professional development for all applicable staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned. Understands and tracks data required for reporting on LEA Determinations for OSES Develops and maintains an expertise in all data systems including SIS, progress monitoring, assessments, CAI, etc. Creates spreadsheets and graphs to analyze data Reports data to specified staff at the district, school, teacher, and student level Uses analyzed data to develop goals for improvement Uses backwards design to plan professional development based on goals derived from the data Supports the MTSS digital system Provides coaching and professional development to program specialists, teachers and administrators in the area of data collection and data analysis Develops exemplar data collection systems for IEP goals Provides professional development on data collection systems for IEP goals Assists with the implementation and coaching of exemplar data collection systems Supports and directs committees when necessary Manages data and paperwork for any DSS requirements Stays up-to-date with current methods and techniques in instructional practices Serves as a consultant to school administrators and others in the development and implementation of data collection systems and data analysis Stays current on developments in the area of data, computer systems, assessments, etc. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid South Carolina Teaching License in one of the following areas: Special Education (any category) School Psychology General Education
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Assistant Superintendent of Special Programs in the supervision of both certified and classified employees in the department. Additional duties include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures and instructional manuals. Ability to design and write professional development plans, reports and data entry procedures. Ability to effectively present professional development and training and respond to questions from groups of educators, trainees, administrators and organization members.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and in the display and interpretation of data.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work related issues and problems. Ability to quickly assess employee, departmental, and administrative needs and provide timely feedback. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents and community; ability to speak clear and concisely in written or oral communication. Ability to implement a flexible work schedule to meet the reporting deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required. Ability to perform duties with a high level of detail and accuracy. Ability to self-monitor and manage multiple tasks while working individually and with members of a group.
