Job Summary and Qualifications
Manage under limited Supervision an Enterprise Class Data Center. Meet all business demands for provisioning and supporting IT solutions to support or mission of patient care.
Implement strategic direction from Sr Director to standardize, document, and operate in a World Class manner
Plan and implement strategies to maximize efficiencies, maintain 100% availability, and support 24x7x365.
Maintain quality as one of the highest priorities and hold staff accountable to this measure.
Manages IT and facility (HVAC, Electrical, space, and all building environmentals) to achieve 100% availability
Manage multimillion dollar budgets annually and maintain budgets on assigned projects.
Negotiate contracts and manage vendors (local and national) to maintain and or source your data center needs.
Create and Maintain Policies and Procedures that are consistent across all Enterprise locations.
Oversee additional data centers as required to ensure Enterprise continuity of IT service delivery.
These are achieved through the following general responsibilities:
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Personnel Management
Staff Scheduling
- Ensure 7/24 coverage, Coordinate Vacation coverage, Cover shifts as operator as required; Various Staff Meetings Include attending week-long RDC Managers meeting Nashville twice a year; Employee Growth /
Advancement:
Quarterly Performance Reviews, Education / training guidance and management, Mentoring / Counseling
Meetings
Daily & Weekly include ServiceCentral ticket review and analysis; Data Center Project Management; Includes Power and space review; Pending, in work and completed projects
Meetings with vendors as scheduled: EMC, Emerson (Liebert); Insight; SIMMS; Iron Mountain
Attend all meetings impacting RDC operations: Resource Planning, Change Control, 3rd Saturday Planning; CMDB weekly meeting
Project Management
Oversee project schedules
Coordinate add/moves/decommissions
Ensure appropriate tickets are created for requested work
Budget Management
Develop annual budget for the RDC
- Validate monthly budget target and identify variances in excess of 5%. Invoice validation and timely delivery to director for review. RDC Supply Ordering. Timely ordering of backup tapes to maintain adequate supply on site. Contract management
Asset management - Equipment delivery; Receive inventory in GHX; Receive inventory in Remedy; Update removed, retired, decommissions in Remedy
Facility Management
Electrical Layout
Cable Management to include labeling
Infrastructure Maintenance and testing: Chiller and pump, Generator testing, Annual Infrared Testing, Power Failure Testing, UPS/FPC/FDC Balancing, Electrical Layouts, Validate completion of Vendor PM visits
General building maintenance: Repair lighting, Repair doors, Plumbing issues, Copier/er repairs, Phone system maintenance, Furniture repair/replace
Supply ordering
Fire suppression system monitoring and maintenance
Floor plan updates
Inventory management
Ensure disaster recovery plans are properly updated
RDC Security Management
Security Card Administration•Quarterly Card Inventory/Validation, Activation/Deactivation of cards as required
Physical Building Security
Surveillance Camera installation and maintenance
Participate in required audits as requested
RDC Hardware Support:
Plan physical layout of cabinets/equipment to facilitate proper clearances/airflow/power distribution; Assist with Hardware Installations; Assist with Hardware Troubleshooting; Manage disposal of old equipment; Manage destruction of data on hard drives prior to leaving the RDC area; Provide application support to staff
Reporting:
Monthly metrics; Monthly Key Observations; Trending; Inventory management
Specific Duties of Managers by RDC
Responsible for coordination of Division RDC implementations
Responsible for All RDC Project installations

Backup for compiling metrics
Service Central Enhancement Committee representing the RDC’s
