THE ROLE

The Data Platform Manager will lead processes and people to obtain and evaluate intelligence from an ever-expanding dataset. As a leader of The MLC Data Platform Team, you will develop and execute the platform roadmap in alignment with the organization’s data strategy, as well as oversee day-today operations of multiple data platforms, ensuring continuous stability, high availability, and performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum eight (8) years’ development experience using multiple programming languages, including 3+ years of managing large projects while leading a team Experience in designing, building and extending large datastores, using Big Data Techniques Knowledge of ETL and orchestration tools such as Prefect, Airflow, Dagster. Experience with AWS and infrastructure as code, ideally with Terraform Experience working on large and complex applications with high business and customer impact

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AS A TEAM MANAGER YOU WILL

Lead the Data Platform team in identifying risks, and new opportunities for The MLC dataset platform. Build, lead & motivate a software engineering team Drive standards and maintain a sustained velocity of delivery while supporting your team. Establish a strong Agile culture, encouraging innovation, inclusion, teamwork and diversity. You will collaborate with technology leaders to deliver new systems, features and product enhancements for our Members. Lead a high performing team delivering desired results within our guiding principles.

AS A TECHNICAL LEAD YOU WILL

Lead technical design and decisions at team or project level demonstrating best practices for design configuration. Define our development environment, and communicate the best development practices within the organization (i.e. code reviews, testing, etc) Pick relevant technologies balancing interests for quality and timing and lead with a test-first approach Be creative and experiment with new Technologies while also being pragmatic Contribute to the technical vision of The MLC Assist in standardizing and continuously improving our software engineering practices, processes, and tools.
