STN_PM322_IK About the Role Join the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) as a Project Manager to support one of the most important public health initiatives in the state— Data Modernization . This program impacts health data systems, analytics, governance, and workforce development. You’ll collaborate with the Office of Informatics and Analytics (OIA) and serve as a critical bridge between leadership, IT, and operational teams. Why You Should Apply Play a pivotal role in public health modernization Long-term, stable contract role with 12+ months of work Collaborate with high-level stakeholders including the Chief Public Health Informatics Officer Hybrid work model based in Nashville Key Responsibilities Project & Program Management Lead coordination across TDH’s three Data Modernization pillars: workforce development , data governance , and data systems Oversee project tracking, status reporting, and documentation management Facilitate workgroups and communication strategies (e.g., SharePoint, newsletters, email updates) Contract & Grant Management Manage contracts and procurement processes related to Data Modernization Monitor project budgets and expenditures across funding sources Support grant-related performance metric reporting Planning & Workforce Development Assist in planning and maintaining Data Modernization strategies and documents Support internal training events such as workshops, seminars, and conferences Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent professional experience (see substitution rules below) 6+ years of professional experience in: Business or systems process analysis OR Project management 2+ years as a lead team member on a project 2+ years of contract management experience Education Substitutions Relevant professional experience may substitute for a degree (up to 4 years) Graduate coursework in project management or IT fields may substitute for 1 year of experience Ideal Candidate Has Public health, government, or healthcare project management experience Familiarity with grant-funded programs and health data systems Strong skills in cross-functional communication, planning, and coordination Security Requirements Candidates must pass a State of Tennessee background check before accessing sensitive health systems Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
