As part of the Care & Service Coordination team, the Information and Assistance Coordinator answers Age Well’s Helpline, and provides direct advocacy, assistance, information and referrals to clients, family members, and caregivers in our area. The position also provides support to the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) and provides Medicare counseling. Maintaining databases through accurate input and research is an essential part of this position. Our Information & Assistance team ensure that Older Vermonters have one place to call for questions about long-term care, transportation, insurance, housing services and more. Key skills include the ability to effectively utilize resource information to meet the inquirer’s needs, effective communication skills including the ability to establish rapport, listen actively, and respond to each inquiry in a professional, non-judgmental and culturally-appropriate manner. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree. Experience in social services preferred. This is a hybrid position in our Chittenden County office.
