The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to support various projects, analyze spatial data, and contribute to decision-making processes. This role requires proficiency in GIS software, particularly ArcGIS, as well as strong scripting abilities and experience with relational databases. Duties Analyze geographic data using GIS software to create detailed maps and visual representations. Develop and maintain databases for spatial data management, ensuring accuracy and accessibility. Utilize scripting languages, particularly Python, to automate processes and enhance data analysis workflows. Collaborate with project managers to define project requirements and deliverables related to GIS tasks. Conduct fieldwork using GPS technology to gather data and validate information collected through GIS. Draft reports and presentations that communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders. Provide leadership and guidance to junior team members on GIS best practices and methodologies. Participate in project management activities, ensuring timely completion of tasks within established deadlines. Experience Proficiency in ArcGIS software is essential; experience with AutoCAD is a plus. Strong background in data management practices, including relational databases. Familiarity with GPS technology for field data collection is preferred. Demonstrated ability in scripting, particularly with Python, for automation of GIS processes. Previous experience in project management or leadership roles is advantageous.
