M General Responsibilities Responsible for managing the IT infrastructure environment andstaff to ensure that all IT Infrastructure systems’ availability,integrity, and confidentiality are maintained and in compliancewith defined organizational service levels and the informationsecurity policy. Responsibilities include designing, installing,configuring, monitoring and maintaining the organizational serversystems, data storage platforms, cyber security systems, andnetwork connectivity components. Manage specificorganizational-wide services related to e-mail connectivity,internet connectivity, user authentication, access management,network security, and remote access and frequently works as anadvocate for the IT needs of one or more business units. Workclosely with the Systems Support Supervisor and IT departmentproject managers to coordinate changes and provide server, storage,security and connectivity expertise during the planning phase ofapplication tier implementations/upgrades. Essential Job Functions Assist in preparing the department’s annual budget fordepartmental project needs; monitor and inform management ofirregularities; manage operational budget andexpenditures. Purchase necessary equipment; manage backup, security and userhelp systems. Direct daily operations of the section, analyzing workflow,establishing priorities, developing standards and settingdeadlines. Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors,vendors, and others to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.

Assign and review server, network, and storage administrators’work. Plan, direct, or coordinate activities in information systems,systems analysis, and computer programming. Plan, implement, upgrade, or monitor security measures toprotect computer networks and information. Ensure appropriatesecurity controls are in place to safeguard digital files and vitalelectronic infrastructure. May respond to computer securitybreaches and viruses. Essential Job Functions Con’t Install, configure, and support an organization’s local areanetwork (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or asegment of a network system. Monitor the network to ensure networkavailability to all system users and may perform necessarymaintenance to support network availability. May monitor and testWeb site performance to ensure Web sites operate correctly andwithout interruption. May assist in network modeling, analysis,planning, and coordination between network and data communicationshardware and software. May supervise computer user supportspecialists and computer network support specialists. Mayadminister network security measures. Design and develop solutions to complex applications, systemadministration, or network issues or concerns; perform systemsmanagement and integration functions. Develop and interpret organizational goals, policies, andprocedures; evaluate the organization’s technology use and needsand recommend improvements, such as hardware and softwareupgrades. Coordinate network or design activities with designers ofassociated networks. Design, build, or operate equipmentconfiguration prototypes, including network hardware, software,servers, or server operating systems. Plan, organize, and deliverproduct awareness, skills transfer, or product education sessionsfor staff or suppliers. Prepare design presentations and proposalsfor staff or customers. Prepare detailed network specifications, including diagrams,charts, equipment configurations, or recommendedtechnologies. Prepare or monitor project schedules, budgets, or cost controlsystems. Collaborate with the IT Security Analyst to conduct securityanalysis operations, encrypt data transmissions, erect firewalls toconceal confidential information as it is being transmitted, andkeep out tainted digital transfers. Develop plans to safeguardcomputer files against accidental or unauthorized modification,destruction, or disclosure and to meet emergency data processingneeds. Collaborate with the IT Security Analyst in reviewingviolations of computer security procedures and discuss procedureswith violators to ensure violations are not repeated. Monitor theuse of data files and regulate access to safeguard information incomputer files. Perform risk assessments and execute tests of thedata processing systems to ensure the functioning of dataprocessing activities and security measures. Oversee architect and manage client/server environments. Essential Job Functions Con’t Evaluate current or emerging technologies to consider cost,portability, compatibility, or usability factors. Provide advice onproject costs, design concepts, or design changes. Document designspecifications, installation instructions, and other system-relatedinformation. Perform ongoing hardware and software maintenanceoperations, including installing or upgrading hardware orsoftware. Maintain and administer computer networks and related computingenvironments, including computer hardware, systems software,applications software, and all configurations. Perform data backupsand disaster recovery operations. Diagnose, troubleshoot, andresolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems,and replace defective components when necessary. Configure,monitor, and maintain email applications or virus protectionsoftware. Work an on-call rotating schedule outside the regular scheduleon a rotating basis. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with theorganization’s policies and applicable laws. Ensure allorganizational policies and guidelines are adhered to andadministered correctly, including the HR Management Guide, EmployeeHandbook, reviewing and approving timesheets, expense reports,complying with applicable employment laws, purchasing guidelines,bid law, etc. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and trainingemployees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraisingperformance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressingcomplaints and resolving problems. Champion, model, and administer a performance-oriented cultureby demonstrating strong leadership and people development skills.

Responsible for demonstrating the organization’s core valuesand using performance management principles to continuously improvethe department and organization’s effectiveness, efficiency,products, and services. This includes, but is not limited to,participating in improvement teams, recommending and implementingimprovement ideas, and participating in training and otheractivities to keep up to date on processes, information,etc. Champion and ensure the administration of safe work practicesand operations. Maintain and protect sensitive and private information bykeeping employee records confidential in accordance with HIPAA,local, state and federal laws and regulations. Ensure that PHI/ePHI of employees, plan participants, patients,and other assigned individuals are maintained and transmittedsecurely and legally. Perform all work safely in accordance with established safetypolicies and procedures. Comply with all safety and healthstandards and guidelines issued by management. Perform other duties as assigned. Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology,Management Information Systems, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or arelated field or an Associate degree with eight (8) years ofexperience as listed below. Experience Eight (8) years of experience supporting a geographically dispersednetwork and Microsoft-based computing environment, includingcompleting concurrent complex deployment, network monitoringsystems, designing/troubleshooting current network architectures,working with computer and server platforms, switching and routingplatforms and enterprise storage technologies required. Experiencemanaging complex network protocols and information securitycontrols, coordinating work and oversight with service providernetworks and experience negotiating/contracting consultants orvendors. Four (4) years of supervisory experience required. (For internal candidates the successful completion of the followingBWW leadership development programs maybe counted towards therequired supervisory experience: Pre-Supervisory Program (STAR) = one year of supervisoryexperience Succession Planning Program = one year of supervisoryexperience
