Position Summary We seek an experienced and strategic Director of Information Technology to join our Technology Leadership Team. This role will oversee all aspects of the company’s IT infrastructure, security, and internal systems while managing the IT support team. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strategic vision, ensuring that Bolt On Technology’s internal IT systems align with business objectives and enable organizational growth and efficiency. This position reports directly to the CTO and supervises one IT support specialist.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership :

Develop and implement IT strategies and roadmaps that support business objectives and drive organizational technological innovation.

Team Management :

Supervise and mentor the IT support team, ensuring high-quality technical support for all employees.

Infrastructure Management :

Oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and cloud-based systems.

Security Operations :

Lead the development and implementation of IT security policies, procedures, and controls to protect company assets and data.

Vendor Relationships :

Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers, negotiate contracts, and ensure service-level agreements are met.

Budget Planning :

Develop and manage the IT department budget, ensuring cost-effective technology investments.

Cloud Platform Administration :

Oversee and optimize the company’s cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure, ensuring scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency. This responsibility will be shared with our DevOps team.

Productivity Tools Management :

Administer and enhance productivity platforms including Google Workspace, HubSpot, Kixie (or similar VoIP provider), ChurnZero, JIRA, and JIRA Service Desk to maximize employee efficiency.

Disaster Recovery :

Develop and maintain IT disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Cross-Functional Collaboration :

Work closely with other departments to identify technology needs and implement appropriate solutions.

End-User Support :

Provide escalation support for complex technical issues when needed, demonstrating a willingness to be hands-on when required.

Qualifications Education :

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and/or relevant certifications (ITIL, PMP, CISSP, etc.) preferred.

Experience :

Minimum of 5-7 years of IT experience with at least 1-3 years in a leadership role.

Technical Skills :

Extensive knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and cloud platforms (AWS and Azure). Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices. Experience managing and administering Google Workspace and productivity software. Proficiency in Windows and Linux server administration. Familiarity with IT service management frameworks.

Leadership Skills :

Demonstrated ability to lead IT teams, develop staff, and manage projects effectively.

Strategic Thinking :

Ability to align IT initiatives with business goals and translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Problem-Solving Skills :

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing technical challenges.

Communication Skills :

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the SaaS industry or automotive software sector. Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements. Experience with IT governance frameworks and methodologies. Background in supporting remote and hybrid work environments. Experience in the automotive aftermarket repair industry.
