IT Manager Job Description Location:

Miami, FL (Travel between Florida City and Pompano Beach required)

Schedule:

Full-time, 40 hours per week (Flexibility required; schedule may change based on business needs with prior notice) Reports to:

Director of Special Operations Position Overview:

The IT Manager will lead the IT Department across all Foundation Academies campuses and associated entities, overseeing the full spectrum of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, device management, network administration, telecommunications, security systems, and software services. This position demands high-level technical expertise, leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to work under pressure with flexibility for after-hours work and travel between sites. The IT Manager ensures the integrity, security, and efficiency of all technology operations, driving compliance with organizational standards and providing the infrastructure that supports academic, operational, and security excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Security Systems Management (ADT Security & Surveillance) Manage user access, alarm codes, and permissions across all locations. Oversee installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of security cameras. Lead contract management and negotiation for all security services. Ensure data storage compliance and manage retention policies for surveillance footage. 2. Network & Internet Infrastructure (Comcast & AT&T Fiber) Administer internet services, vendor relations, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring. Implement and maintain network security protocols, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems. Manage firewall configurations to block inappropriate content and ensure legal compliance. Respond to network incidents, ensuring quick resolution and minimal disruption. 3. Mobile Device & Fleet Management (Verizon Phones & Verizon Fleet) Oversee company mobile phones, line activation/cancellation, and plan optimization. Manage Verizon Fleet technology including GPS tracking, diagnostics, and data analysis. Ensure timely procurement, maintenance, and cancellation of mobile services and fleet tracking systems. 4. Call Tracking & Communication Systems (CallRail & Phone Policies) Provision and monitor CallRail numbers. Manage call recording, data analysis, compliance, and system integration. Optimize communication workflows between schools, parents, and internal teams. 5. Equipment & Asset Management Oversee procurement, deployment, and inventory tracking of: Cell phones, laptops, desktops, monitors, Chromebooks, peripherals. Security and fingerprinting devices, ID badge printers, conference electronics. Coordinate hardware setup, software deployment, and on-site installations. Lead regular audits, surplus equipment evaluation, and compliant disposal. 6. Software & Antivirus Management Manage software licensing, deployment, and updates. Ensure organization-wide antivirus installation and real-time monitoring. Conduct periodic security audits and enforce antivirus and security policies. 7. Email & Signature Management Oversee account setup, access control, two-factor authentication, and email security protocols. Maintain consistent, compliant email signatures and branding across all platforms. Provide training and troubleshooting support for email systems. 8. Trustifi Email Security & Data Breach Response Manage Trustifi services including email encryption, threat simulations, domain protection, and account takeover monitoring. Lead breach detection, response, containment, recovery, and post-incident reviews. 9. Fraud Prevention & Security Awareness Implement employee phishing and fraud awareness programs. Oversee spam filters, verification protocols, and network security enhancements. Maintain incident response plans and internal reporting systems for scams or breaches. 10. Employee Equipment Exit Process Manage secure recovery of all company-issued equipment upon staff termination. Reset, document, and revoke system access for departing employees. Coordinate with HR to ensure compliance and resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (Master’s preferred). Minimum 5-7 years of proven experience managing IT infrastructure, network systems, security operations, and telecommunications.

Strong understanding of:

Network administration (firewall, routers, switches). Security systems including ADT, surveillance cameras, and biometric devices. Antivirus software, Trustifi email encryption, and breach response protocols. CallRail, Verizon business accounts, Comcast, AT&T Fiber, and fleet tracking systems. Familiarity with equipment inventory management and procurement processes. Expertise in software licensing, installations, and compliance. Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills. Ability to handle confidential information and exercise sound judgment. Comfortable with driving long distances between sites (Florida City to Pompano Beach). Ability to work flexible hours, including after-hours and weekends, as needed.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for equipment setup. Capability to work on-site at multiple campuses. Extended periods of computer use and occasional manual labor related to IT setups.

Additional Information:

Must hold a valid Florida driver’s license with a clean driving record. Background check required prior to employment. This role may require emergency availability for critical system issues outside of standard business hours.
