Technical Director Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Technical Director to oversee the technical operations and maintenance of a diverse fleet, including tankers, general cargo, multipurpose vessels, and tug/barge units. The Technical Director will ensure that all vessels comply with regulatory standards, maintain high-performance levels, and operate efficiently across various regions, including the Americas, Africa, and the Caribbean. Technical Director Responsibilities Lead and manage the technical team, including technical superintendents and port engineers, ensuring effective fleet support. Oversee planned maintenance systems (PMS), dry-docking, and major repairs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Develop and manage the technical budget, controlling maintenance and repair costs. Coordinate with flag states, classification societies, and other regulatory bodies for vessel certifications. Implement and monitor vessel safety and environmental policies, ensuring compliance with international regulations. Lead technical investigations in case of machinery failures or incidents. Support the commercial team with technical expertise in client and project discussions. Technical Director Position Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in technical management within the maritime industry. Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations, including ISM, MARPOL, and SOLAS. Proven experience with dry-docking, PMS, and budget management.
