Job Summary AmeriLife is seeking a results-driven IT Senior Manager to lead the development, support, and evolution of our agent-facing platforms, including the Agent Portal and Agent Sync, etc. This individual will be responsible for managing the full application lifecycle

  • from strategic planning and implementation to ongoing enhancements and operational excellence
  • with a focus on scalability, data integration, and user experience.

The ideal candidate will come from an IT application development background, bring strong leadership experience, and preferably have domain knowledge of the insurance industry or agent/producer onboarding and engagement platforms.

Job Description Key Responsibilities:

Lead the application strategy, delivery, and support for Agent Portal, Agent Sync, and related agent-facing platforms. Manage vendor partners for custom development and operational support of the portals platforms and ensure successful execution of initiatives. Collaborate with business stakeholders (e.g., Sales, Operations, Compliance) to define product roadmaps, prioritize enhancements, and support evolving agent needs. Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to build or enhance data integrations with core enterprise platforms including CRM, licensing & contracting systems, data platforms, and external APIs. Drive technical oversight for system architecture, data flows, and security compliance (e.g., PII, HIPAA, SOC 2). Ensure service level performance, issue resolution, and platform stability through proactive monitoring and vendor coordination. Partner with PMO to manage project timelines, risks, budgets, and resource allocations. Build and mentor a high-performing team and promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Required Qualifications:

8 years of progressive experience in IT application development, including hands-on experience in software engineering or system design. 3 years in a managerial role overseeing application teams or enterprise solutions. Experience working with vendors for custom development and maintenance of portals. Proven track record managing SaaS platforms, web portals, and API-driven ecosystems. Experience with technologies common in modern portals: JavaScript frameworks, REST APIs, AWS cloud services, CI/CD pipelines. Strong understanding of workflow, integration tools and CRM systems. Background in the insurance or financial services industry preferred, especially in agent/producer onboarding, licensing, or engagement platforms. Familiarity with systems like Agent Sync, Salesforce, Agent Portal, or similar agent tools is a strong plus. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

Experience leading third-party vendor relationships and negotiating SLAs. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC). Knowledge of compliance and regulatory considerations in insurance (e.g., NAIC, CMS, FINRA). Why Join AmeriLife?
