Note:
THIS IS NOT A REMOTE OR HYBRID POSITION.
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday
- Friday, 8:00 AM straight through to 5:00 PM.
This position includes two, paid 15-minute breaks but does not include a lunch break. Working a full week will result in 5 hours of overtime. Account Managers may eat lunch at their leisure, provided they are available to continue work while doing so.
Compensation:
Hourly Base Rate:
$15.00/hr + commission
Expected Yearly:
$40,000
- $55,000 (first-year target), with potential for $45,000
- $70,000+ in the second year Desktop Disposal does not offer health insurance at this time.

Position Overview:
This Account Manager role is B2B sales-intensive and ideal for someone who thrives in a high-energy, fast-paced, client-focused environment. As an Account Manager, you’ll play a critical role in selling our ITAD and electronics recycling services, identifying and closing new business opportunities, and managing key relationships with our clients. This position combines sales, account management, and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:
The functions outlined below represent the primary business objectives of this role, with a strong focus on sales, client relationship management, and selling B2B IT asset disposal services. Specific duties or tasks may vary and evolve as necessary, and additional responsibilities may be assigned according to business needs.
Drive New Business :
Aggressively pursue and close new business opportunities by engaging with prospective and existing clients and decision-makers across the U.S.
Opportunity Handling:
Respond to all incoming calls, screen voicemails, address web inquiries, and assist or direct clients accordingly. Vet each interaction to identify potential B2B sales prospects and ensure that no opportunities are missed.
Note:
Most opportunities arise through inbound phone calls and web inquiries from organizations seeking ITAD and electronics recycling solutions though occasional cold-calling may be necessary.
Coordination and Communication :
Work closely with company leadership and senior decision-makers within client organizations to gather critical information about each client’s needs and expectations including:
- The volume and type of equipment the client intends to dispose of or recycle.
- Logistics regarding equipment location and client requirements.
- Client expectations related to pricing, timeline, and service specifications.
Deal Structuring and Documentation :
Negotiate, prepare, and present proposals that outline service details and pricing while ensuring clarity and transparency to facilitate smooth transactions and long-term partnerships.
Account Management :
Manage and grow a portfolio of existing client accounts and maintain consistent contact via phone and email to address ongoing IT disposal and recycling needs.
Visitor Engagement and Facility Representation:
Welcome and manage any visitors to the facility, ensuring that their visit is professionally handled and complies with company procedures.
Qualifications:
Ability to prioritize sales activities and consistently focus on identifying and securing new business opportunities while maintaining long-term client relationships. Ability to follow detailed instructions, maintain a positive attitude, and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues. Use a computer proficiently to access, input, and manage information with ease, demonstrating a solid understanding of basic computer skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage clients professionally over the phone and through email. Basic knowledge of IT hardware and disposal processes is preferred, but not required.
Requirements:
Able to pass a drug screening and background check. Minimum 2 years of B2B sales or account management experience . Documented success in achieving or exceeding sales quotas through persuasive communication, negotiation, relationship building, and repeatedly closing deals in a B2B sales and/or brokering environment. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, while advanced degrees, relevant training, or certifications are a plus. Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Typing speed of approximately 35 words per minute or higher. Mandatory attendance for the first 30 days of employment, barring emergencies.
