Responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and management of Ameris networking and communication systems. This position ensures the seamless integration and operation of voice, video, and data services, supporting the organization’s business operations and strategic goals. Will lead a team of network engineers and communication specialists, providing guidance and expertise to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of the network and communication infrastructure. This role involves close collaboration with senior management, IT departments, and external vendors to align technology initiatives with business objectives and to drive innovation in communication technologies. Performs other projects and duties as assigned.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy:
Develop and implement strategic plans for networking, voice, and unified communications. Lead and mentor a team of network engineers and communication specialists. Collaborate with senior management to align technology initiatives with business objectives. Manage vendor relations as appropriate.
Network Management:
Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of the organization’s network infrastructure. Ensure network security, reliability, and performance. Manage network upgrades, expansions, and troubleshooting.
Voice and Unified Communications:
Implement and manage VoIP systems, video conferencing, and other communication technologies. Ensure the integration of unified communication platforms with existing IT infrastructure. Monitor and optimize communication systems for performance and user experience. Project Management Lead projects related to network and communication system upgrades and implementations. Coordinate with vendors and service providers for procurement and support. Manage budgets and timelines for technology projects.
Compliance and Security:
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Implement security measures to protect communication and network systems. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
Additional Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring capacity and performance of the Networking and Voice Infrastructure is proactively managed. Manage all security engineering and operations as it pertains to Networking and Voice technologies to ensure Ameris is secured while at the same time ensuring users and customers are able to complete their work. Manage and lead all end user services to ensure employees have the right hardware, software and at the same time logical access is appropriately managed and executed. Partner with the rest of Technology and respective Business areas to ensure DR is working as designed and aligned with the BCP program. Ensure all Networking and Voice infrastructure are sized appropriately and appropriately patched/configured to the standards of Ameris. Ensure all Networking and Voice assets are inventoried, procured, managed, and retired appropriately. Ensure all controls are managed across Networking and Voice Infrastructure. Ensure capacity, performance and support are aligned to expectations and performing as expected with immediate peers, and peers and Managers in other Divisions. Ensure alignment with direction and key updates on progress with the team with immediate Manager. Ensure performance expectations and support is aligned with their organization with the Executives. Ensure vendors align to our Networking and Voice technologies infrastructure standards.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
Ability to communicate and work directly with regulators and occasional Board Members. Advanced written and oral communication skills Advanced analytics skills Advanced influence skills CCNA, CCNP, or other relevant networking certifications. Certifications in unified communications technologies (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft).
Industry and Work Experience:
5+ years of managerial experience 10+ years’ experience in a related field ITIL, PMP, or other Project Management experience
Change Control Academic:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems or Computer Science required. Benefits Available to
